Terms & Conditions

These terms set out how Your Items Matter provides courier, antique delivery, auction collection, storage and clearance services. We've kept them simple and customer-friendly.

Quotations

Quotations are based on the information supplied by the customer. If the actual job differs (for example more items, additional stops, extra weight or access difficulties not previously disclosed), the price may need to be adjusted.

Item declarations

Customers must declare item values and identify any fragile, antique or high-value items at the point of quotation so that we can confirm the appropriate handling and insurance approach.

Access

Any access issues — for example stairs, narrow doorways, parking restrictions or long carries — must be disclosed before the job is confirmed.

Waiting time and third-party costs

Waiting time beyond a reasonable allowance may be charged. Parking fees, tolls, congestion or low-emission charges, ferry costs and other third-party costs may be added to the final invoice where they are incurred.

Cancellations

Cancellations may incur a charge depending on how close to the collection date the cancellation is made and whether costs have already been committed.

Insurance

We operate an insured courier service. Cover is subject to policy terms, limits and declared item values. Fine art and high-value items are accepted by prior agreement only, subject to insurance confirmation. Customers should advise the value, condition and any special handling requirements at the time of booking.

Excluded or restricted goods

Certain goods may be excluded or restricted (for example hazardous, illegal, perishable or live items). Please ask if you are unsure whether we can carry a particular item.

Storage

Storage services are subject to agreed terms, availability and payment of any agreed storage charges.

House clearance and disposal

House clearance services are subject to legal and responsible disposal requirements. We are not a skip-hire or general rubbish removal service; we focus on careful clearances, retained items, storage, onward delivery and responsible disposal or recycling where required.

European work

European journeys are accepted by arrangement and are subject to documentation, insurance and compliance requirements applicable at the time of booking.
